Today in this growing world where women are running side by side with men. They are taking roads of thorns to attain success. But does all this struggle they had throughout the whole history worth it? Despite being acquiring the highest position in each field, are women getting the dignity and treatment they deserve? From Maryam to Draupadi, In every cycle of history, women are being subjected to violence and questioned for their chastity. Rape and sexual harassment are the main causes of the vulnerability of women.

In India, every 20 min a woman is raped, and female youth are mostly the victims of “rape-culture” India. In 2019, a total of 4977 children below the age of 18 were reportedly raped in India. 144 of them were below the age of six. The most targeted age group was between 16 and 18 years with 2757 rape cases. Sex offenders who were online friends, separated husbands, Live-in partners made 16,311 of the rape cases. Women in India are often cautioned about stepping out but aren’t they equally defenseless inside their homes? Can women be expected to hope anything from this world?
As per the National Crime Records Bureau, out of the 32,033 rape cases reported from all states and Union Territories in India, over 94% of the survivors knew their abusers. Over 30,165 cases were reported in 2019 in which the offenders were known to the survivors. 2,916 of them involved a family member, 10,938 offenders were either survivor’s neighbors, employers, or friends.

On 27th September 2021, a 21-year-old civil defense officer was raped by four men and brutally killed. Now you can examine yourself even if a defense officer is not safe then how can an average female survive in this country. A girl lost her dignity and pride lost her life for the sake of some perverts and the monsters didn’t stop on that they even chopped off the private parts of her body and killed her like beasts. Even the death penalty for these rapists is narrow. But the death sentence is very far from them they are not even arrested yet. What is the system doing for their people? even men are not able to hold their heads high because of these shameful activities. The question is till when?

Well, we all know the answer but the opinions may differ. As in my opinion laws should be strengthened and strong laws should be made for rapists and harassers. The enforcement of those laws should be quick and easy to access. As I’ve said before the death penalty is very small punishment for these rapists they should be stoned to death in front of the whole public so that before snatching someone's pride those men would think for thousand times. Sharia’h laws could be one option too but in a Hindu majority country, it would hurt some people’s pride to enforce laws associated with Muslims. In shari’ah, a rapist is stoned to death in front of the public and the raped women just need four pieces of evidence or witness to send the rapist to hell. Many use to criticize shari'ah law and Islam for being cruel towards women. But that's what they want to know. There is nothing like women being depressed and unprivileged in Islam or downtrodden. The beloved wife of Prophet Muhammad was a businesswoman so how could someone say Islam doesn’t allow women to step out. A woman in Islam possesses higher status than any other religion. In countries like Saudi Arabia, rape rates are much soothing than that of India and the USA. Just go get some true knowledge and then fight with me based on religion.
And do you all think Hindu women are safe and getting justice? What happened to Nirbhaya 9 years ago was much shameful and painful than Rabiya but still, nobody is taking these creatures seriously! If you can’t treat them as women, please! treat them as humans.
One of the most shameful acts that usually takes place is circulating victim’s pictures all over media. The criminals are moving freely and the victim's family is facing criticism and the one who is not even alive is being accused of her chastity. Where is the justice even lies?

Nirbhaya’s mother also fought for 7 years for justice Wasn’t it too early for the courts to pass a law to safeguard their women. On March 21, 2013, the rape law in the country was amended the new tougher anti-rape law, Criminal Law (Amendment) Act, 2013 to punish sex crimes redefined rape, and made punishments more stringent including death for “repeat rape offenders”.(It has to be repeated !). But despite the strict laws weak enforcement and policing haven’t stopped rape. The law failed to attain its primary objective, evident by the similarly brutal cases in recent weeks.
No protests no voices in this country worth for a positive change “corruptors” just want us to bark then stop all our efforts. The media is busy fighting for women's rights in Afghanistan instead of empowering their own country's women. Its no doubt this could be their agenda to make the democracy hollow from inside, recent riots and protest are evidence of what’s going on in this country.
At last, I would also like to give my sister’s a suggestion to train themselves to fight these societal worms. Modestly dressing would not take down your pride if your dresses provoke them then stop dressing like that, At least this one thing should be understood by women. Just don’t give them any excuse to blame you, the rapists will rape whether it’s a girl in burkha or a girl in a bikini. But everyone is responsible for their own greatness and misery so we should take this small step to protect ourselves and to shut their mouths.
